Hi Marie
Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our stay on the campsite this week.
The site is in a lovely location and the facilities are a credit to you.
Hopefully we might get some nicer weather on our next visit!
Thanks again. (April 2023)
Hi Marie,
Just wanted to say thank you so much for accommodating me and my doggie for our mini-break.
We had a brilliant time and I feel we have been away a week! I am always so happy in my tent and I love the campsite. I keep telling my friends so you might get some calling in. I loved watching all the swallows shooting about and I explored more the locality walking up the river to Heatherslaw, Etal, Hay Farm and Ford and back. I am still waiting for a good clear day to get up those bigger Cheviots but enjoyed Chester’s, Great and Little Hetha Bronze Age Hillforts from Hethpool. It’s such a rich area in all respects and I love it so much.
Thank you again and enjoy the spring, hope to see you again soon

Dear Rob and Marie,
Just wanted to say, we had a great weekend at your campsite.
Our daughter and son in law had a bit of a disappointment with there tent. Haha, it was given to them and they got soaked on Saturday night. They have just bought a new one and can't wait to use it.
Thanks again and I loved the Guinea fowl.
Regards Vivienne and Barry (May 2023)

Hi Marie
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We absolutely loved your site. The location and set up was just perfect and we really enjoyed the relaxed natural feel to the site. The river walk was just a dream with the dogs, just a shame I didn’t explore all the way to ford, will have to do that on our next stay with you as we will definitely be back again. (June 2022)
Sorry we didn't manage to see you before we left today but we were on the road early to beat the heat. Many thanks for a good stay and for keeping us entertained!!! Hoping that you have a good year with customers and hope to see you again soon. John still not getting over being known as Barry. It will stick now so thanks.

A very convenient site close to historic villages of Ford and Etal. Steam train runs up the valley. Working mill at Heathersaw. Spotless facilities beautiful location and very helpful owners. Well worth a stay on the way to or from Scotland. (Sept 2020)
A lovely clean site and very helpful owners, set in the countryside with views of Ford castle and about 20 miles to Holy island a nice bike ride picking up cycle route 1
(Sept 2020)
Stayed overnight in our motorhome What an idyllic setting, great walks for the dog Excellent facilities. Truly a brilliant peaceful stopover. 5 stars from us (Oct 2020)
We have just spent 2 nights at this lovely C&CC CL site, we have never stayed at another site that was so well looked after by the owners. It is a lovely little site and we hope to return. It has great views of the surrounding countryside and is a great site for walking. It is within the Etal & Ford estate which has a number of places to visit nearby. A great find and well worth visiting again. (June2020)
7th stop on our Northumberland 250 tour. What a lovely campsite! We only stayed one night, but we have earmarked it for a longer stay when we do our 2 centre holiday in the future. Informal pitching, on the grass, some hard standings also. Portaloo showers and toilets. The owner was often to be seen with bucket and mop cleaning. We didn’t use the facilities, but other campers said they were immaculate. Good tv and wifi reception. Looks to be good walking country, with lots to see and do on the Ford and Etal Estate. (July 2020
Lovely quiet campsite. Turned up at the last minute and very friendly owners happy to accomodate us. Very close to Ford and Etal, beautiful villages with tea rooms etc. and riverside walks. Hardstands have own water, waste and EHU. Didn’t use toilets or shower but told by another camper that they were spotless. £24 per night which we were happy to pay. (March 2022)
'A GEM'
I had a great 4-night stay on this excellent site on a working farm. The 4 hardstanding pitches are pretty level and there's an electricity and water supply to each of them. In addition there is a porta-loo and a porta-shower on site, along with a wash-up area. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There are Tamworth pigs, guinea fowl, and chickens to welcome you. This site is an excellent base from which to explore the area and its attractions.

'EXCELLENT CAMPSITE'
What a great find. A well maintained camping paddock with 4 hard standings and 16amp hook ups. There is a porta-potty type toilet and a porta-shower, both kept immaculately clean. The owners are very friendly and immediately handed us an information pack detailing the many things to see and do nearby. Ford and Etal are beautiful villages within walking distance but there are also many other great locations to visit within a half hour drive. I almost didn’t review this site in case it becomes too popular. Will certainly return.

'GREAT LITTLE SITE'
Totally agree with all the other reviewers comments! Several grass pitches with EHU as well as some hardstandings with EHU, in a fenced area plus other grass pitches. Two chemical flush toilets and a shower in blue cubicles currently , but planning permission awaited for permanent facilities evidently. Everything spotlessly clean. Friendly owners. Very quiet site , good for walking and cycling and close to many interesting places to visit. Entertainment from resident Guinea Fowl gang! Sorry to leave!

'SIMPLY THE BEST'
This site is lovely. Its a beautiful peaceful setting with the cleanest facilities and lovely owners. If you stay here take the walk to Etal via Heatherslaw . Definitely try the locally brewed beer and enjoy the walk back along the river.
(June 2021)
'LOVELY QUIET SITE'
This is a lovely quiet site with beautiful views and a very friendly and welcoming family. We visited both the Ford and Etal Estates while there and had a great stay.

'BRILLIANT'
Just returned from a fabulous stay at this site. It is just a nice size site without too many pitches and although the amenities are basic they are kept spotlessly clean. The husband and wife team running the site are friendly, helpful and doing an excellent job at what is a newish venture for them. Local area is spectacular and we would go back in a heartbeat. Entertainment is provided daily by the small flock of guineafowl kept on site who ‘do the rounds’ a couple of times a day and would do Disney proud in their comedic behaviour. My only concern is that the site should not become too popular and lose its charm! (June 2021)
'EXCELLENT LOCATION AND SITE'
This site was perfect for our stay, we used a very large 8 man tent and still had lots of extra room around us. Toilet and shower on site was kept very clean. And the owners were very nice and helpful on arrival. We visited the Cheviot brewery during our stay and was well worth the 40 minutes walk from Ford bridge where the kids got to feed alpacas and then had really nice fresh pizzas. Would definitely recommend this site to others. (June 2021)
This site is perfectly situated for exploring the amazing Ford & Etal Estate by bike on foot or by car. There are pubs, a brewery, several tea rooms plus other tourist attractions we were never short of anything to do in 8 days, including open air opera in Ford Castle grounds! It was August but I didn’t expect the site would be so busy being only a certificated site. I would recommend the use of your own facilities because those available were kept very clean but were inadequate for the number of guests. The owners are very pleasant and helped us willingly with an awning problem. (Aug 2021)
Owners response: Thanks for your comments Chris, we take on board all constructive feedback, re the toilets it is difficult not knowing which 'units' want to use their own on-board facilities, especially with the current COVID situation, on the whole we currently cater for those who don't have their own facilities.
We found this site to be very peaceful and quiet. Although we use our own facilities this site has a shower and toilet facilities which are immaculate. There is also a small kitchen facility. The pitches are of good size and the grass was kept short. It is an excellent location for visiting Ford & Etal and a number of small surrounding villages and is about 8/9 miles from Berwick. Suited us perfectly so will be back. (April 2022)
We have just returned from a lovely 5 night stay at this lovely small campsite on the banks of the River Till close to the Scottish border. Although this was our first visit it will not be our last. The facilities were kept spotlessly clean by the lovely couple who run the site and our hardstanding pitch was fully serviced. The location is ideal for walking to Ford and Etal villages and the Cheviots, Wooler, Holy Island and Berwick upon Tweed are only a short drive away. The site is peaceful and has a lovely open aspect with views of the surrounding countryside where we saw deer and hares from the caravan window. (May 2022)
Grate little site . Owner made us welcome and helpful. ideal for visiting alnwick castle . cragside a national trust estate. bamburgh castle. and a load of outher places around the area. Ford and Etal are nice villages near by. there is good pub in the village of etal there is a good pub that srves food and cask ales. i would recommend staying here for a few nights. i will bee back at some time in the near future.
(June 2022)
My grown-up daughter and I stayed here in our camper for just one night travelling from the north of Scotland. We walked to the village of Etal (around 2 miles each way) to visit the Black Bull pub there, which served draught cider and beer and good meals. Lots of useful information provided on boards at the campsite and elsewhere in the nearby villages. I've given only 4 stars for the facilities on the basis of the lack of hooks or shelves in the ladies' combined toilet/wash-basin cubicle and what appeared to be a rather cramped shower facility. Otherwise a very pleasant place to stay, and we loved the little pot-washing shed. (July 2022)
Owners response: Thanks for your comments Pam, currently we hire the toilets so we are restricted as to what we can put in them cosmetically wise. The shower facility is compact, but it has been well received by our campers, did you try it? We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
